mkvtoolnix software package provides Set of command-line tools to work with Matroska files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install mkvtoolnix
mkvtoolnix is installed in your system.
Make ensure the mkvtoolnix package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep mkvtoolnix *
You will get with mkvtoolnix package name, version, architecture and description in a table
